How do you define success? Do you realize that it is all made up? Views held by others do not have to reflect your personal definition of success, wealth, or even health. You get to create definitions and meanings that inspire and work for you.

Walking for Well-Being Group
Free, facilitated, group that walks weekly in and around Lincoln Park on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Participate as often as you wish and meet fellow West Seattleites who care about health. Click more info for the brochure.

My personal wellness journey started back in 2001 with a common theme for many 30-year-olds: a desire to lose unwanted weight. At 230 pounds, I’d reached a point where the weight was simply no longer acceptable; and frustrated, I worked towards identifying and implementing my own solutions. Initially, I found some information and support in a weight loss group. Then, I learned to prioritize daily movement and that all movement counts-not just gym-based “exercise.” Through trial (and a whole lot of error) I learned about healthier food choices that worked for my body. I implemented stress management techniques. I prioritized rest. I became a competent and creative cook.

In hindsight, I would have been much better served by a health & wellness coach.

This process and these steps were all important for me on my journey; It may not ring true for you-I suspect some of it will. Everyone has their own way of tackling these issues to become healthier. I promise you that there is a right way for you, too.
The same holds true for folks trying to make changes towards a healthier lifestyle due to health challenges. This represents the vast majority of clients that I work with. They have a recent diagnosis and want to make changes that can restore or allow them to regain their health. They are usually overwhelmed by the process and don’t know where to begin. This is where working with a health & wellness coach like me helps.
As your health & wellness coach, I am hyper-focused on your desired outcomes and help you to create a workable plan to get you to the outcome you seek. I help notice when things are off-track and ask questions to help you find the solutions to get you back on track.
